Another busy week with lots of hard work with a festive touch of Carol Singing to the Over 60's on Wednesday. The children sang their hearts out beautifully and were a true credit - well done! We have done so much this week it was hard to choose favourites but they really enjoyed creating alliteration in poetry: Mathematic Mathilde, Legendary Lucy, Oval Ollie are just a few fun examples!
We have also been working on money problems looking at adding up money and solving different types of word problems. Well done to all the hard work with times tables practise - children now have new targets to learn (stuck in their reading diaries) Everyone has tried very hard on quick recall of facts including the divisions.
In Science we learnt about high and low pitch and to help understand children made their own sets of strawpipes - see the photos attached! In DT children have been very busy making their lantern frames and will complete to bring home next week!
The children gave Mrs Broady a lovely send off as she leaves to complete her last part of her Teaching course. It is not good bye as she has promised to come back to see us in March. We really enjoyed having her in the class and thanked her for being such a great part of our team.
We have lots planned for our final week including our Theatre Trip on Wednesday, Elf Run and Christmas dinner on Thursday followed by our class party in the afternoon. On Thursday please can children remember to bring in their party clothes in a bag. We would also ask if they could bring in a spare carrier bag to put all the little extras into at the end of term.
Now finally our special mentions to Stars of the Week:
Thomas H Y3 for his excellent all round attitude alwasy trying very hard
Alex Y4 - for great progress in his times tables work
See you all next week!
